After completing your application, you will be prompted by email and on the next webpage to complete the 30-minute online orientation. When you complete the orientation and short quiz, you will receive an email detailing the next steps for you to sign up for in-person training at Adopt & Shop in the program of your choice. Please email us at mfavolunteer@foundanimals.org if you have any questions or concerns.
The minimum age is 13, and volunteers age 13-15 must volunteer with a parent or guardian for up to 25 hours of service, who must also fill out an application. Volunteers 16+ can volunteer solo, and different roles have some age restrictions, but there is always an opportunity for every volunteer!
You can either be a regularly scheduled volunteer, completing a minimum of 8 hours a month, with a 3-month commitment, in roles from Meet & Greet host to Pet Care provider, interacting directly with our adoptables. We also offer more remote volunteer opportunities, if volunteering on-site is a challenge.
We offer remote volunteer opportunities, such as an event volunteers, fostering, blanket making, and administrative volunteering at our MFA HQ in Culver City. For more info just email us at mfavolunteer@foundanimals.org
We are more than happy to allow students to fulfill their community service hours. In our online portal, we provide the exact amount of hours that you have volunteered, all we ask is that you fill out the form your school has provided and we will sign them in your next shift!
We ask that volunteers with an hour requirement be up front with the Volunteer Team with how many hours they will be involved with our program if they do not plan to continue after meeting their requirement.
Of course! We offer opportunities for service groups. For more information, just email us at mfavolunteer@foundanimals.org.
We love our customers from areas near Culver City, West LA, Palms, Marina Del Rey, Mar Vista, Playa Vista and Venice.
